The Open [4]

The Open [4] – Open Call for Submissions

We are delighted that the Open is returning to Salford Museum and Art Gallery for 2024.

The exhibition will run from 21 September to 1 December. This is an exciting opportunity for artists of any age who live, work, study or were born in Salford.

We welcome entries from artists in any medium including painting, drawing, print, textiles, photography, sculpture, mixed media and digital.

Submission dates are Thursday 5th, Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September 2024.

There is a fee of £5 per entry. Each artist may enter up to two works. This is non-refundable and will need to be paid via the website when booking. All proceeds from entry fees and commission from sales help to support the work of Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

How to enter

• Please read the Submission Guidelines.
• Complete your entry form below. This includes contact details, submission information and payment. Please ensure you complete all the questions when making your booking as this information is needed to process your entry.
• Drop off your labelled work on your allotted day – you can arrive at any time during opening hours on the day you have selected.

The exhibition will run from 21 September to 1 December 2024 and will feature a range of works selected from all submissions. Those featured in the exhibition will also be entered into a competition where we will be awarding First Prize, People’s Choice and other awards.

The museum is open from 9.30am – 4.00pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 11.30am – 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
