The venue first opened its doors in 1850 and since we have hosted drinks receptions, wedding receptions, private event and gallery openings. We allow private hire at the venue during our non-operating times.
We have three distinct spaces available for venue hire:

Named after the house built in the 18th Century, Lark Hill Place is a recreation of a small street date back to that era. constructed with original shop fronts and objects the street capture past living conditions in Salford.
This unique space can be hired for drinks receptions for up to 40 people with a fee of £200 per hour (a minimum of 2 hour hire). Please note we do not allow food to be consumed on the street.

Our Victorian Gallery includes paintings and artefacts from the museum collection and the room can accommodate up to 80 people for a drinks’ reception.

The ground floor Café & Welcome Space overlooks the stunning Peel Park and is a fantastic open and airy space to host evening receptions. We can accommodate up to 68 people seated.
We work with local catering company Dish to provide catering for events and prices are based on requirements. Canape receptions start from £10 per head. Hire of the space is from £200 per hour (minimum 2 hour hire) and is available outside of our normal opening times. Our café can supply buffets and catering for business meetings and small events.
Our North Gallery, Langworthy Gallery & Lifetimes Gallery are available dependent on current exhibitions in these spaces and any restrictions that apply. We can provide the use of a short throw projector and screen along with PA system to support your event. For additional AV/tech equipment we would hire in based on individual requirements at an additional cost.
There is a small pay and display car park available at the front of the building with additional parking to the rear. We are an inclusive and accessible venue, and more information can be found via our accessibility page.
