Did you know Salford Museum & Art Gallery is home to the National Archive of Pilkington’s Lancastrian Pottery and Tiles?

We house the largest collection of the work of the famous North West company – everything from their beloved ornate tiles to the Lustre ware sold at Tiffany’s in New York!

To celebrate this wonderful collection, we’re putting on a range of events.

Symposium: Pilkington Tiles and the Arts & Crafts Communities in Britain c.1890-1930

Make a Mosaic in a Day

Tales from Tiles: Family Storytelling

Join expert storyteller Rogan Mills for an afternoon of storytelling inspired by our Pilkington’s Pottery Collection.

From designs of animals, ancient myths and legends to local landscapes, join us on adventures, tall tales and fables in this entertaining voyage for all the family. Suitable for all ages.

Hand Making Pottery Class

Wednesday 2 September (original date 25 March), 6.00 – 7.30pm
£10 per person, booking required

This session will involve making either a mug, vase or jug using the soft slab building method. You will be able to add your own textures and designs to the pots, which will be taken away for firing and glazing, then returned to you.

Session is suitable for both beginners and people who have some previous experience with ceramics.
