Salford Museum and Art Gallery are collaborating with Harold Riley’s family to honour the late artist’s life with a range of exhibitions throughout 2024.
As part of the range of exhibitions ‘Every Line is Me: A celebration of Harold Riley’ we have created a digital legacy exhibition which showcases a range of Harold’s work along with personal sketches that he gifted people while out and about.
These were often drawn on anything he could get his hands on whether that be a scrap of paper, a receipt or a napkin. Giving these little sketches were an expression of Harold’s human connection with the public and his family believe that these sketches tell a big part of his story.
The museum has appealed to the public to send copies of any original Harold Riley sketches to create this accessible digital legacy of his dedication to drawing.
We will add to this legacy throughout 2024 and into 2025, so if you have a Harold Riley sketch, please do share a digital copy along with your story with exhibitions@scll.co.uk.
