Join artist Claire Hignett, who is currently featured in our exhibition Your Salford 100: Contemporary Narratives to learn this textile technique!
During this session participants will create a small black and white sample of reverse felt appliqué using wool blend craft felt and hand stitching. Unlike traditional appliqué, where the shapes are sewn on top of the fabric, reverse appliqué involves cutting away layers to expose the fabric underneath, creating a sense of depth.
All materials will be provided. Suitable for ages 18 year and over.
£12 per person, booking required.
| PLEASE NOTE – We will be using wool blend felt for this session. If you are adverse to using wool blend for ethical reasons, then please email salford.museum@scll.co.uk so we can source and provide acrylic wool substitutes. |
