Following the government’s announcement on 26 November, the Greater Manchester region, of which we are a part, has been placed in the strictest level of restrictions, Tier 3. This means, that in line with the guidelines, museums and art galleries are unable to open.

So, unfortunately we will remain closed until further notice. We will continue to work hard behind the scenes to do all we can to welcome you back safely when we are able to do so.

We are obviously very disappointed we are unable to re-open and offer visits to discover our wonderful collections, exhibitions, tours of Larkhill Place and of course a cup of tea or coffee in our café.

Our team have worked hard to make the museum a COVID secure environment and we were delighted to welcome back so many visitors for safe experiences after the last lockdown. We understand and accept the need for these measures to help control the spread of infection at this time.

We rely on the support and generosity of our visitors, friends, supporters and the local community and this is now more important than ever. We may be closed, but we are always open for your support.
