We are so excited to welcome Louisa Boyd, who is featured in our exhibition ‘Your Salford 100: Contemporary Narratives’ to lead this paper collage workshop inspired by her own body of work.

Participants will use reference material to choose a flower that they would like to illustrate and find out its blooming seasons. Using a circular format to identify the months of the year, paper collage pieces will then be added with colours that show when the flowers are in bloom.

The resulting piece is a striking, abstract representation of nature and its annual cycle. Louisa will be providing hands on guidance, as well as a curated selection of collage materials comprised of original etching prints.

She will also be bringing a range of botanical references for inspiration.

Suitable for ages 18 + years. All materials included.

£8 per person, booking required.

About the artist

Louisa Boyd is a multidisciplinary artist who works with print and sculpture.

She says, “I’m interested in how we use our surroundings, especially the natural world to navigate place, identity and connection. Celestial symbols, sacred geometry, and map-like imagery appear throughout my work as a way to describe a sense of belonging.”
