The Open [4]

The Open is back for 2024!

We welcomed entries by artists of any age who live, work, study or were born in Salford and have been delighted with the response – 147 artists are taking part in the exhibition this year. Over 170 works have been selected for display, in a wide range of mediums including painting, drawing, print, textiles, photography, sculpture and mixed media.

We held an Awards Presentation on Saturday 9 November. Eight prizes were awarded, including First Prize, the People’s Choice and awards sponsored by artist Geoffrey Key and Pinc College.  You can read about the awards and the winners here.

Many of the works of art in the exhibition are also for sale and each purchase helps support the artist and the work of Salford Museum and Art Gallery. It is a great opportunity to purchase an original Christmas gift for someone, or just treat yourself!
