Toys Through Time

Come and have a go with our traditional toys from the past. See how they have changed over the years and how they compare to toys children play with in modern times. Not a touch screen in sight! Take home a make-it-yourself toy kit.

What is a posser? How was a donkey stone used? Come down to Lark Hill Place for a chat and a demonstration about how the residents of Lark Hill Place would have done their laundry and find out the answer to these questions and more!

Find out about the inhabitants of Lark Hill Place from Victorian times onwards! Every session will feature objects from a selection of time periods giving you the chance to marvel over how things change over the years!

Got a sweet tooth? Mr Tomlinson’s Sweet Shop is open every Friday in the school holidays for some sweet treats in return for a donation to the museum. Also, whilst you are browsing the shelves, why not pick up a make-it-yourself toy kit.
