We are delighted to be able to start a phased reopening of Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

From the 4th of August you will be able to call into our shop and cafe, book a 30 minute slot to visit Lark Hill Place (the Victorian Street) or book an appointment in the Local History Library. We will be open Tuesday – Sunday from 11.30am – 4pm.

Following government guidelines from Saturday 8 August face coverings must be worn when visiting the museum, the local history library, shop and for collection of takeaway items from the café.

Please note that our upstairs galleries are currently closed. During lockdown we have started large scale repairs to the roof and external cornice, and continued with restoration work to the blue staircase. Unfortunately during the course of the work we have discovered other maintenance issues in some of our galleries, so we are embarking on investigation work inside the building to understand more. With this work going on we cannot safely operate a one way system upstairs, so for the short term the first floor will not be open. We will keep you updated on any developments.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been advised to self isolate please stay at home and do not come to the site.
