Nigel Kimber’s work comprises abstract, monochrome compositions created using lines, geometric forms and shading. Interlaced and overlapping geometric forms and shapes are arranged to give the impression of captured movement or a precarious balance of unstable elements. A stippling technique, using very fine technical drawing pens with black and white ink, is used to produce shading. This creates the impression of transparent, superimposed layers and a textured appearance in contrast to the opaque elements of the design.
