Hot Bed Press is one of the largest open access print workshops in the UK. It is situated in their own building on Cow Lane, just around the corner from Salford Museum and Art Gallery.
The large open plan workshop boasts specialist facilities for screenprinting, etching, relief printing, letterpress and book arts, as well as artists’ studios and exhibition space. The extensive course programme includes a wide range of weekend and evening courses where anyone can learn to print, make books and hand set letterpress. All courses are very popular!
There are currently 300 members who can use the facilities throughout the week. Hot Bed Press also offers scholarships with the University of Salford, an annual artist-in-residence scheme, and works with schools, colleges and other arts organisations to run workshops and events.
There is a wide programme of exhibitions and events including an annual London show and stands at print and art fairs across the UK. Hot Bed Press also organises the Manchester Artists’ Book Fair and runs The 20:20 Print Exchange, the largest print exchange in Europe.
