Visitor Update

Following the Government announcement of a 4 week long lockdown, we can confirm that we will be closing from Thursday 5 November. Our team is really disappointed to be closing, but accept these measures are necessary and we look forward to welcoming you back when we are able to re-open.

The cafe is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11.30am – 4.00pm.

Getting Here

By Train

Our nearest railway station is Salford Crescent which is a 2 minute walk away.

You can travel to Salford Crescent railway station on the train from Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Manchester Oxford Road railway stations

By Car 

Unfortunately parking is limited. We have a small car park to the front of the building which includes 3 accessible bays for blue badge holders. There is also a selection of Salford University run car parks in the local area. For more information please visit the Salford University website.

Car parking charges can be paid for by coins. If you wish to pay by phone, app or online there will be details in the car park and a small administration fee will apply. Please note we will not be carrying cash in our tills so cannot give change.

Car parking charges apply at Salford Museum & Art Gallery at the following rates:

  • Up to 3 hours: £2.50
  • 3 – 6 hours: £5.50
  • Over 6 hours: £9.00

By Bus

Our nearest bus stops are Salford University, Salford Crescent station stop A or B. Visit the Transport for Greater Manchester website for more information about travelling by bus to Manchester.

By Bicycle

You can lock up your bicycle just outside our right elevation steps to the front of the building. Visit the Transport for Greater Manchester website for more information about city centre cycle routes.
