We’re running fun Victorian related activities and workshops during February half term for the whole family to enjoy!

Join us for some fun play in our Learning Room. We will have a variety of zones set up with a range of materials, toys, and books for kids to engage with.

Signs of the Times (Animals)

Wednesday 21st February, 10:00am - 12:00pm

A Hands-On Experience of the Past with artist Christopher Sacre of SEE and CREATE. Christopher is a deaf artist, using British Sign Language (BSL) and spoken English.

He uses the visual world to explore heritage and museums and will be running creative art sessions during February half-term at Ordsall Hall and Salford Art Gallery and Museum.

Explore Animals: Participants will have brief guided tour around the gallery’s exhibits to find images of animals (real or imagined!), then return to the workshop space to create their own fabulous animal-based designs on tiles to take home.

Come and find out about the past, explore the museum, and create your own artwork!

Buildings in Salford: The artist LS Lowry is famous for his paintings of buildings and people. What would Lowry create in Salford in 2024? Create colourful artworks with different materials of Salford’s buildings and people to take home.

Join us for this exclusive family-friendly session with exhibiting artist Leah Higgins!

Learn how to use textile inks, self-adhesive paper masks, acrylic shapes and a simple stamping technique to create your own truly unique apron or tote bag. The textile inks used are vibrant and durable so your apron or tote bag can be used, washed and loved for years to come!
