George Shepherd

Taken in the 1960s by local lad George Shepherd, these photographs capture a vibrant northern town showing parts of Eccles, Salford and Manchester. Saved by the photographer’s daughter over 50 years later, they reveal people at work, rest and play, including house parties and Eccles Carnival.  A selection of works from Shepherd’s recent exhibition at Salford Museum & Art Gallery are available to buy.
