We are delighted that the Open is returning to Salford Museum and Art Gallery for 2022. The exhibition will run from 18 June to 18 September.

This is an exciting opportunity for artists of any age who live, work, study or were born in Salford. We welcome entries from artists in any medium including painting, drawing, print, textiles, photography, sculpture, mixed media and digital.

Submissions

Submission dates are Thursday 26, Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May 2022 and you will need to book a day to bring your work.

There is a fee of £5 per entry. Each artist may enter up to two works. This is non-refundable and will need to be paid via the website when booking. All proceeds from entry fees and commission from sales help to support the work of Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

How to enter
  1. Please read the Submission Guidelines.
  2. Complete all the questions on the below form – this information is needed to process your entry.
  3. Follow the ‘Book Now’ link to pay the £5 (per work) entry fee.
  4. Drop off your labelled work on your selected day. You can arrive at any time during our opening hours on the day you have selected.

We are open from 9.30am – 4.00pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 11.30am – 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Please note the car park at the front of the building will be closed on Sunday 29 May. Salford University car park at the back of the museum will still be open. For more information about parking visit the Salford University website

The exhibition will run from 18 June to 18 September 2022 and will feature a range of works selected from all submissions. Those featured in the exhibition will also be entered into a competition where we will be awarding a First Prize, People’s Choice and Young Artist Award.
